THE TESTIMONIALS

"This club is the first club that I have seen that balances academics, sports skills and moral conduct so well.  My son has been on other clubs that focus on sports skills and moral conduct or just sports skills.  This club is much more balanced because they include academics.  One example is requiring book reports to be completed before the players are allowed to play in tournaments.  Another is that they reinforce that academics not sports are what will get you places in life.  They also took the boys to tour the Globe and Mail to learn about the newspaper business and to talk with a judge about how he became a judge and what he does as a judge.  They demonstrated that making the right choice rather than the easy choice when they registered in the correct age group for tournaments when other clubs chose to bend the rules.  The coaching instruction was excellent.  There were multiple coaches each bring their specialty (physical conditioning, team play, or various skills).  The coaches push them to train hard and to play hard but they also kept it fun and high energy.  Even the games that they lost were used to teach resilience, new tactics and plays.  The growth of the team both in individual skill and as a team was amazing over the summer season.  My son has played different sports for different teams but Red Swarm has been the best not only in athletic and character development but also included academic elements too."

  1. When you look at all the coaches of this organization you’ll have an understanding of what 150% represents. Starting with Coach Geary who is the visionary with a bit of spit-fire to energize the young players through competitiveness and razzing. Coach Craig’s athleticism helped to motivate the boys on the track and on the court with their unstoppable cardiovascular endurance. This also empowered the parents to step onto the track strutting their stuff and showing their skills of years long gone. Coach Jill on the track and on the court taught the fundamentals of personal agility and court placement. Coach Andy with his never gives up attitude and the belief that there is always a little bit more to give so you can achieve your personal goal. He believes team represents family which includes parents and everyone alike. He wants you to fight your inner weakness by digging deeper within yourself and to challenge all faucets of life by always giving 150%. Coach Dane is the calm cool glass of water that can drown the referees on the court. He brings to the game a lot of knowledge and skills that he will easily demonstrate if positioned on the right side of the court just above the three point line. The kids react more reassuringly to a coach when he is able to walk the talk at any given moment; we know this usually ends with him limping after showing the kids a piece of his youth. Dreden wore business attire to see the inner workings of the Global Mail newspaper, discussion with a provincial judge who took the time to talk about the excitement of his job and the importance of reassurance when dealing with people and their freedom. These two visits showed him the importance of education and what will be available to him outside of basketball if he applies himself physically and academically. Tomlaw Red Swarm represents family and the importance of building each member through growth and trust. This summer has taught us about commitment, hardwork, unity and investment. As we continue to invest into our children’s future, we need to belong within a family with the same integrity and drive for a better tomorrow. We believe we have found this with TOMLAW RED SWARM and we will continue with the cheer “LET’s GO RED SWARM”, Yaaaah!
